Ubisoft have announced that Far Cry 2 has sold over one million units worldwide (360, PS3 and PC) in just under three weeks since the game was released.
The holiday quarter is off to a solid start with the successful launch of Far Cry 2 said Yves Guillemot, chief executive officer at Ubisoft.
The game is well on track to achieve our expectations for the year. What they don't tell you though, is that the game is a massive flop with only a handful of multiplayer servers supporting the PC version of the game, with far to much emphasis being placed upon the all singing all dancing map editor.. and its all backfired.
No one is submitting any maps because they cannot get on line to play multiplayer and scores of people are complaining the single player is repetitive and boring. Ubisoft brought out a recent patch for the PC to try and resolve a few single player problems, and have yet to comment on the state of affairs regarding the multiplayer.
My own personal feelings are very clear, this is unfortunately the last Ubisoft game I buy. Please dont let me be the judge of this recent news, head on over to the Official Farcry 2 Forums and read a few threads.
